Our best chance to put a permanent halt to this rolling catastrophe is to kick Republicans out of Congress in substantial numbers in the upcoming mid-term elections (Nov. 6, 2018). So tap that vast energy and turn it into registered voters!
The bad news: Democrats and Independents will have to defend 25 Senate seats. The good news: there will be 9 Republican Senate seats up for election. The simple math: Democrats and Independents will have to take 3 seats away from Republicans to control the Senate (currently 52 to 48).
The bad news: gerrymandering and discriminatory voter ID laws are a boon to Republicans. The good news, the GOP lost 6 seats in the last election. The simple math: Democrats and Independents need to take 42 seats away from Republicans to control the House of Representatives (currently 241 to 149).
